In the beginning God created heaven and the earth, that’s what it says in genesis chapter one. But what about before that?
God is eternal and he has no beginning, this is among other things what differentiates him from his creation. Imagine someone that has always existed and has no beginning isn’t this strange and difficult to comprehend.
It is like the universe, you think about it and understand that if it is eternal or if it because of that has no end it just goes on and on and there is just no end you think if there where and end somewhere what is behind that end.
These things cause our heads to spin does it not?
So we just have to accept it that God has no beginning and no end also it is the same with the universe even though we can not comprehend it.
God has also put eternity in mans hearts even though they can not grasp it fully.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
New King James Version
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Because God is almighty and all together complete and happy in himself in need of nothing outside of himself we can conclude that during eternity back he was the happy God even though he was alone.
One day God decided that he wanted to create another spiritual creature like himself with free will and also reason gifted. He created Jesus as the first spiritual creature and God must have known since he is almighty and knows all things that as soon he created another reason gifted creature someone could question his character and his way and right to rule the universe.
So probably he knew that it was just a question of time before anyone would do this and when He arranged for the test for Adam and Eve he already saw Satan rebel in his heart. So we can conclude that our heavenly Father arranged for the question to be answered for the benefit the whole universe both angels and humans. (Ezekiel 28)
It is obvious that if we appreciate the free will to choose if we want to serve God out of love for him we have to understand that the 6000 years of experience with Satan’s rule how terrible it might have been and are, it is something that will be highly appreciated by the creatures in the universe for the whole eternity in the future
This is why we think that God wanted a very long time to bond with his dear son Jesus so that he will be trustworthy in dealing with this question. Jesus spoke so many times about his heavenly fathers love for him and for us and that shows that he had a very deep appreciation of the heavenly fathers character.
Maybe Jesus was created for billions of years ago as the first spiritual creature with free will and ability to meditate about right and wrong God created. Probably Jesus spent billions of year together with the heavenly Father so he knows him better than anyone (proverbs 8).
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
This proofs that Jesus was created before the earth was prepared for Adam and Eve
Song of solomon 8;6,7
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

Everlasting God – Encountering Eternity
Genesis to Revelation records man’s relationship with the Everlasting God. Kings and prophets, tax collectors and persecutors, a young shepherd boy and an exiled old man — each life was impacted for eternity. Expressions of praise and worship reveal their encounters with the Everlasting God of all creation:
- Abraham – “…He worshiped the Lord, the Eternal God, at that place” (Genesis 21:33).
- David – “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! (Psalm 106:48).
- Isaiah – “The high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, the Holy One…” (Isaiah 57:15).
- Paul – “Glory and honor to God forever and ever. He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God” (1 Timothy 1:17).
- John – “And I saw another angel flying through the heavens, carrying the everlasting Good News to preach to the people who belong to this world — to every nation, tribe, language, and people…‘Worship him who made heaven earth, the sea, and all the springs of water’” (Revelation 14:6-7).
Everlasting God – Immeasurable Giving
The human mind attempts to comprehend an Everlasting God who would be governed by present time that extends in two directions (past and future). Time, however, is restricted in duration, measured by processes of thoughts or motions. Eternity cannot be measured, yet the Everlasting God inhabits eternity, continually fulfilling His Word. Just as eternity is the unchanging present, without beginning or end, God also transcends time. As such, He gives to man without measure, holding back nothing.
- His Protection – “The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He thrusts out the enemy before you; it is he who cries, ‘Destroy them!’” (Deuteronomy 33:27).
- His Understanding – “Have you never heard or understood? Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding” (Isaiah 40:28).
- His Love – “‘…But with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,’ says the Lord, your Redeemer” (Isaiah 54:8).
Everlasting God – God’s Greatest Gift to Mankind
The Book of John illustrates how a relationship with an Everlasting God is forever guaranteed. This was God’s purpose for sending His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus’ very own words affirm:
- “Jesus replied, …‘But the water I give them takes away thirst altogether. It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life’” (John 4:14).
- “I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24).
- “For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life — that I should raise them at the last day” (John 6:40).
There is but one God, one Everlasting God. From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. No one else can lay claim to His property — eternity. The gods of the heathen cannot lay claim to it. But for those who choose to follow Jesus, a glorious eternity awaits. “And God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:11).
